dc.description.abstractThe RFQ cavity used for RF proton accelerators is able to perform 3 tasks, such as focusing, bunching and accelerating the low energy beams in the same structure. A radio-frequency-quadrupole accelerator operating at 352.21 MHz is designed by using Computer Simulation Technology Microwaves Studio Suite. In the first step of the study, the RF properties of the Cold-Model cavity such as quality factor, resonant frequency and dissipated power are obtained and geometrical parameters are optimized using the same software. Besides, the mechanical design of the cavity is presented below.
