Özet
Even though donation has become more institutionalized, the behaviors, attitudes, motivations, and perspectives of the individuals are always crucial. In extraordinary events such as economic crises, natural disasters, and epidemics, charity and donation are more important. The sharing of time and labor becomes even more important in addition to material assistance. There are studies on donation, donation motives, and donation behaviors in the literature. However, these studies have mostly focused on blood and organ donation. There are limited empirical studies on philanthropy, donor intention perception, and motivation in Turkey. Considering that philanthropy involves not only material donations but also time and labor, it would be useful to reveal which motivation is important in philanthropy and donation. The purpose of this paper is to examine the influence of motivation and attitude on donation intention. Survey data from 407 respondents are analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. The survey was conducted in Adana. According to the research results; it was determined that attitude, self-oriented, and volunteerism have a positive and significant effect on donation intention. Altruism and other-oriented perfectionism have no significant effect on donation intention.
