Öğe RECOVERY of IRON and PHOSPHORUS REMOVAL from GARA DJEBILET IRON ORE (ALGERIA)(Natsional'nyi Hirnychyi Universytet, 2021) Mansour, F.A.; Ould-Hamou, M.; Merchichi, A.; Güven, O.Purpose. This research aims to promote the assay of iron and reduce the phosphorus grade of the final DRI. Methodology. A highphosphorus oolitic iron ore from Gara Djebilet deposit underwent the procedure of coalbased direct reduction (coalbased DR) followed by wet lowintensity magnetic separation (WLIMS). The effects of temperature, periods of time and Na2SO4 dosage on phosphorus removal, metallisation degree and iron recovery rate were tried and optimised. Furthermore, phase changes in iron oxides and the distributing features of phosphorus in both reduced and magnetic materials were investigated as well. Findings. The appropriate addition of sodium sulfate improves the FeP separation during the coalbased DR of Gara Djebilet mixed pellets. Originality. Using additives of CaO and sodium sulfate during the coalbased DRmagnetic separation of mixed pellets sourced from Gara Djebilet deposit. Practical value. The results reveal that a final direct reduced powder (DRI) assaying 96 wt% Fe and 0.16 wt% P at a recovery rate of 97.72 % was obtained when the orecoalCaO mixed pellets were reduced in the presence of 5 wt% Na2SO4 at 1250 °C for 30 min. Thus, the coalbased DR could be used as an alternative to the blast furnace (BF) route in the steelmaking industry from refractory iron ores. © Mansour F.A., OuldHamou M., Merchichi A., Güven O., 2021Öğe THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT COLLECTORS ON THE FLOATABILITY OF A PHOSPHATE ORE(Baski, 2023) Güven, O.; Bulut, G.; Kangal, O.; Arslan, F.In this study, the effect of collector type, namely Aero 6493 which is a conventional collector and potassium oleate, on the flotation characteristics of a phosphate mineral “francolite” was investigated. Different collector dosages of 800, 1200, and 1400 g/t were examined at the original pH of the ore sample. The results showed that while the highest P2O5 content of 32.3% was obtained with the usage of 1200 g/t K-Oleate, 1400 g/t collector dosage was found as the optimum concentration considering the amount and metal loss in tailings with single-stage flotation. On the other hand, a concentrate with higher P2O5 content such as 32.67% was obtained with Aero 6493. In this manner, in addition to optimizing conditions for the flotation of francolite ((Ca, Mg, Sr, Na) 10 (PO4, SO4, CO3)6 F2-3), the effects of different reagents on its floatability will be discussed. © 2023 IMCET 2023 - Proceedings of the 28th International Mining Congress and Exhibition of Turkey.
