GokhanThe RFQ cavity used for RF proton accelerators is able to perform 3 tasks, such as focusing, bunching and accelerating the low energy beams in the same structure. A radio-frequency-quadrupole accelerator operating at 352.21 MHz is designed by using Computer Simulation Technology Microwaves Studio Suite. In the first step of the study, the RF properties of the Cold-Model cavity such as quality factor, resonant frequency and dissipated power are obtained and geometrical parameters are optimized using the same software. Besides, the mechanical design of the cavity is presented below.Öğe Measuring the Electromagnetic Properties of Radio-Frequency Quadrupole with Bead-Pull Measurement Technique(Amer Inst Physics, 2018) Akkurt, Nihan; Algin, Emel; Unel, N. GokhanAn aluminum RFQ Cold-Model cavity has been designed using CST-MWS Suite and fabricated. The cavity is then brought to the Eskisehir Osmangazi University and placed on the test setup for the Bead-Pull Measurement. The electric field behavior in the cavity was measured using the phase-shift technique. The test setup contains stepper motors and necessary power supply equipment, dielectric bead and string mechanism, a VNA to observe phase shift in the cavity, computer controlled software program for data acquisition to measurement and automation for the 4-vane RFQ cavity.
