    Elderly Women Empowerment in the Aging Process: A Cognitive Perspective

    This study was carried out to draw a road map for the cognitive empowerment of women in the aging process. The fact that women are under negative effects in physical, biological, and cultural contexts reveals the fact that they may have some psychological and perceptual problems. Perceptually, struggle against the difficulties experienced in the aging process requires a cognitive approach. Improving women’s perceptual self-management skills will lead to success in the aging process. The theoretical framework of the study is explained with the topics of successful aging theory, successful aging in the workplace, cognitive theory of aging. Cognitive empowerment is explained with the topics of perception in aging, psychological effects, socio-emotional selectivity theory, emotional regulation, expressive suppression, cognitive reappraisal self-perception in aging, the self paradox, interpersonal conflicts, personality theory of aging, physical perception effects. Besides, recommendations are presented with a cognitive approach to overcome the difficulties in the aging process of women. © 2022 by IGI Global. All rights reserved.

    Etik Liderlik, İç Girişimcilik ve Hizmet İnovasyon Davranışı: İşe Bağlılığın Aracılık Rolü

    Amaç: Türkiye’de TOBB’a bağlı ticaret ve sanayi odalarının örgütsel ve yönetsel açıdan nasıl daha etkin hale getirilebileceği sorununu irdeleyen bu çalışmanın temel amacı etik liderlik, işe bağlılık, iç girişimcilik, hizmet inovasyon davranışı arasındaki ilişkileri analiz etmektir. Yöntem: Türkiye’de faaliyet gösteren ticaret odaları, sanayi odaları, ticaret ve sanayi odalarında görev yapan 568 işgören-den toplanan veriler analiz edilmiştir. Ölçüm araçlarının geçerlilik ve güvenilirlikleri için doğrulayıcı faktör analizi, modelin iyi uyum değerleri ve aracılık rolü için AMOS Yapısal Eşitlik Modeli kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Etik liderliğin işe bağlılık, iç girişimcilik, hizmet inovasyon davranışının alt faktörü işgören hizmet inovasyon davranışı ve yeni hizmet geliştirme üzerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir etkisinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. İşe bağlılık, etik liderliğin iç girişimciliğe etkisine, etik liderliğin hizmet inovasyon davranışının alt faktörlerine etkisine kısmi olarak aracılık etmektedir. Sonuç ve Öneriler: Çalışmanın etik liderlik, hizmet inovasyonu, iç girişimcilik ve işe bağlılık literatürüne ampirik katkılar sağlaması bakımından önem arz ettiği düşünülmektedir. Özgün Değer: Araştırmameslek örgütlerindeki işgörenlerin örgütsel davranışlarının ortaya çıkarılması ve bu örgütlerdeki işgörenleri literatüre tanıtabilmek bağlamında özgündür.

    Legalistic entrepreneurship in the digital world

    This study aims to explain the legalistic entrepreneurship by introducing the type of legalistic entrepreneur-ship that transforms compliance with laws into entrepreneurship action, and answer the question of how information and communication facilities brought by the digital world can be turned into opportunities in the face of legal obstacles. In this chapter, the concept and components of legalism, the conceptual framework of legalistic entrepreneurship, processes, personal characteristics of legalistic entrepreneurs are explained. In the conclusion section, recommendations are made to policymakers, entrepreneurs, and academicians on virtual commerce and initiatives to be developed in the digital environment and legalistic entrepreneurship. © 2021 by IGI Global.     Successful Aging Management in Social Work

    This study aims to identify the factors related to successful aging management in social work and tomake recommendations to policymakers and practitioners in this context. The study was carried outbased on active aging, social conflict, business-life, and satisfaction in aging. A systematic literaturereview method was applied in the study. The study consists of research methodology, theoretical framework, issues related to successful aging, and successful aging management, respectively. Issuesrelated to successful aging were determined as subjective well-being, quality of life, and organizationalsupport. Elements of successful aging management in social work were determined as policy management, healthcare management, social security, education management, psychology management,ergonomics and technology, employment management, and equality management. Within the scope ofthese elements, recommendations were made to policymakers and practitioners. The study contributesto social work, which is an academic discipline, in the context of introducing the elements of successfulaging management.

    THE EFFECTS OF BOREOUT ON STRESS, DEPRESSION, AND ANXIETY IN THE WORKPLACE

    The study aims to determine the effects of boreout on employee’sdepression, anxiety, and stress levels. Furthermore, it is aimed to reveal employee’s job meaningless, employee’s job boring, stress factors, ways of coping and being happy under stress via interview. This study was conducted with 186 participants recruited from the Chambers of Commerce in Turkey. Mixed-Method Evaluation Design has been adopted in the study based on the social exchange theory, which includes quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. Findings revealed a positive association between boreout, depression, stress, and anxiety. The coding findings confirmed the three-dimensional structure of the boreout scale those were the problems arising from managers, employees and working conditions. Furthermore, stress was perceived by the employees as three main effects in terms of keeping away, accepting and struggling.

    The Effects of Mobbing in the Workplace on Service Innovation Performance: The Mediating Role of Boreout

    Purpose – The study aims to explore the mediating role of boreout by revealing the effects of mobbing and their effects on service innovation performance employees in the retail industry.Design/methodology/approach – This study was conducted with 209 participants recruited from retail companies registered to Adana Chamber of Commerce in the province of Adana Turkey in October 2019. The research was analyzed by the SEM method based on the social exchange theory. Findings – Findings revealed that boreout and mobbing were negatively associated with service innovation performance and mobbing was positively associated with boreout. According to another finding, boreout partially mediated the effect of the mobbing on service innovation performance.Discussion – The study reveals the boreout, mobbing status of the employees serving in the retailindustry and service innovation performance of the retail companies. Limitations of the study,discussions and suggestions were included in the study.

    The Effects of Workplace Belongingness on Exploratory Innovation: The Mediating Role of Exploitative Innovation

    Purpose – The study aims to explore the mediating role of exploitative innovation by revealingthe effects of workplace belongingness and their effects on exploratory innovation in the ITindustry.Design/methodology/approach – This research was conducted with 91 executives recruited fromIT businesses registered to Adana Chamber of Commerce in Adana Turkey in December 2019. Theresearch was analyzed by the structural equation modeling method based on social exchange andorganizational change management theories.Findings – The results of the study show the positive and significant effects of workplacebelongingness on exploitative and exploratory innovations in the IT industry. To revealinnovations beyond the existing innovations, the employees' sense of belonging to the workplaceand the existing innovations should be improved.Discussion – This study is the first to clarify the association between workplace belongingnessand innovation types. There are limitations to the study in the context of sample size andgeneralizability.

    THE IMPORTANCE OF USE OF TECHNOLOGY BY ELDERLY IN TERMS OF INTERGENERATIONAL COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL IMPACT

    This article focuses on the use of technology in terms of intergenerational communicationand social impact. The theoretical approaches affecting the use of technology in intergenerationalcommunication have been examined and emphasized on the importance of social classes andgroups’ intergenerational communication. The effects of the use of technology on the elderlyhave been assessed within the context of social classes, groups, and generations. In additionto the rapidly evolving technology, the issue of ageism, which interferes with intergenerationalcommunication, is also mentioned in this review article. In this article, the emphasis wasput on the importance of formal and informal education on the use of technology in thestrengthening of intergenerational communication, with the result that technology facilitatesthe daily work of the elderly and strengthens their social communication, thus contributingsignificantly to intergenerational communication. The Global Class Theory, which underliehuman, emphasized that the classification of individuals should be based on human values andthat the elderly individual may exist in all areas of these classes. Increasing the qualitative andquantitative studies to be done in this field due to the importance of technology acceptanceand use and intergenerational communication on seniors will contribute to the literature.For future studies, qualitative and quantitative researches on the use of technology and theacceptance behaviors of the elderly are suggested in terms of intergenerational communicationand social impact.
