Engine of the vehicles producedisturbing noises in different frequencies. In the application of acoustic, there are different filters to predict thesound pressure level and disturbing noises. The aim of the present study is to investigate the noise characteristicof a compression ignition engine at different weighting filters. In the experiments, the engine was fuelled withlow sulphur diesel and sunflower biodiesel fuels and it run at different engine speeds ranging from 1200 to 2400rpm, with steps of 300 rpm. The results indicated that noise characteristic of compression engine with enginespeed shows different trends at A- weighting filter than C- and Z- weighting filters especially at 1500 rpm.Moreover, in the study, it was cleared that the SPL decrease with the addition of biodiesel fuel regardless of itsratio.Öğe Investigation of Seismic Behaviour of a Construction of a Conveyor Line in a Coal Power Plant(2023) Uludamar, Erinç; Egüz, Sinan; Çelebi, Kerimcan; Karaahmetli, SedatThe conveyor line that carries raw materials from storage area to inside of a facility is the main vessel of a coal power plant. Therefore, this critical line should be designed by considering the many loads likely to be exposed in the field in order for the plant to operate uninterruptedly. In this study, seismic behaviour of a construction of a conveyor line was investigated by using Finite Element Analysis. The structure of coal carrier conveyor line of a coal power plant, operating in Adana, Türkiye was considered as a case study. In the study, the parts of the conveyor line were modelled as 1-D. The modified acceleration history of Golcuk-1999 earthquake was applied on the structure on lateral direction. The results showed that the maximum stress is slightly higher than the elastic limit of the steel and less than the ultimate strength. Although the construction of the conveyor line withstands the applied loads, modification should be carried out to prevent the damage on the construction.Öğe Mechanical Behavior of Functionally Graded Pressure Vessels Under the Effect of Poisson’s Ratio(2018) Yarımpabuç, Durmuş; Eker, Mehmet; Çelebi, KerimcanFunctionally graded materials (FGM) belong to advanced composite materials class whose mechanicalproperties vary continuously from one surface to another at macro level. Thick walled annular structuresare widely used in industry as nuclear reactors, long pipes used for carrying gases/oil, pressure vesselsetc. Elastic analysis of FG thick walled cylindrical and spherical pressure vessels subjected only to internalpressure are studied. The material properties (Young’ s modulus-Poisson’ s ratio) are assumed to obey thepower-law function through the wall thickness. Under these assumptions the governing equations of the FGvessels become a two-point boundary value problem. The analytical solution of such an equation can notbe obtained except for simple grading functions. Complementary Functions Method is performed to solvegoverning equation in order to obtain displacement and stress distributions depending on inhomogeneityparameters.Öğe Tamamlayıcı Fonksiyonlar Yöntemi ile Heterojen Bir Çubuğun Zorlanmış Titreşim Analizi(2016) Çelebi, Kerimcan; Yarımpabuç, Durmuş; Eker, MehmetSürekli sistem olarak modellenen eksenel yüklenmiş heterojen bir çubuğun elastik davranış problemi analiz edilmiştir. Bu problemi modelleyen diferansiyel denklemlere Laplace dönüşümü uygulanarak zamandan bağımsız sınır değer problemi eksenel koordinatlarda elde edilmiş daha sonra bu problem tamamlayıcı fonksiyonlar metodu (TFM) tarafından çözülmüştür. Sayısal olarak çözülen denklemler Durbin'in sayısal ters dönüşümünü yardımıyla zaman uzayına dönüştürülmüştür. Her bir yükleme tipi ve inhomojenlik parametresi için elde edilen sayısal sonuçlar, analitik sonuçlar ve ANSYS sonuçları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu birleşik yöntem, iyi yapılandırılmış, basit ve etkili bir yöntemdir
