Abstract:
In this study, the plastics used in the automotive industry have been studied in order to increase the surface tension before the painting process. In order to ensure that the paint adheres to the surface in a healthy manner, it must be ensured that the value of the part surface tension is greater than the value of the paint surface tension. For this purpose, two different issues were discussed in this study. These are; firstly effect of injection process parameters on surface tension and secondly comparison of baking, alcohol wiping and dry ice cleaning methods. The injection speed, injection pressure, ironing time and cooling time parameters were investigated in order to investigate the effect of process parameters. An experiment matrix with three different levels determined from each parameter was created. In the comparison of the methods, 9 pieces were produced for each method from the nominal parameter value and cleaned with alcohol, and dried with ice for 30 minutes at 80oC. Among these methods, the highest surface tension value is provided in the parts cleaned with dry ice.
