6/7 Eylül Olaylarının Yazılı Basına Yansıması

Abstract

Cyprus Issue, which became a current issue after the Treaty of Lausanne, has created influences at both national and international level. Although it has been discussed at London Conference, in which England, Greece and Turkey participated, any solution has not been achieved. In Turkey, Cyprus Issue has caused the 6/7 September Events to happen during the period of Democratic Party Government. Attacks and loot activities have been conducted against the non-muslim minorities living notably in Istanbul and also in Ankara and Izmir. After this event, the Minorities, who had been living in peace and with their own cultures since the Ottomon Empire, lost their trust in the state. The newspapers of that period narrated all these events in detail. Since these events were reflected by newspapers with all aaspects, the purpose of this study is to Show the effects of press on public by analyzing how the newspapers with different political attitudes reflected Events of 6/7 September.
