Döviz kuru ile hisse senedi performansı arasındaki ilişki, literatürde oldukça tartışmalı bir konumdadır. Türkiye ekonomisi için ise döviz kurunun hisse senetlerine olan etkisi fazla düzeyde araştırılan ancak kesin bir sonucu bulunmayan bir konudur. Bu çalışma, Türkiye için döviz kuruna oldukça duyarlı olan elektrik sektöründe döviz kuru-hisse senedi fiyatı arasındaki ilişkiyi 2004 yılı Ocak ayı ile 2019 yılı Aralık ayı arasında ARDL modeli vasıtasıyla araştırmaktadır. Elde edilen sonuçlar Türkiye ekonomisinde kısa vadede enerji sektöründe döviz kurundan enerji sektörü fiyatlarına bir geçişkenlik ilişkisini gösterirken, uzun vadede bir ilişki bulunmadığını göstermektedir.
The relationship between real exchange rate and stock performance has a controversial place in the current literature. The effect of real exchange rate on stock returns is a highly debated topic but there has no clear conclusion for the Turkish economy. In this study, the relationship between real exchange rate and stock price in the energy sector is examined for the Turkish economy between 2004 January and 2019 December by using the ARDL model. The obtained findings show that real exchange rate has a short-run transitory effect on stock price, but the effect is not valid in the long-run in the energy sector in the Turkish economy.
